Merchant Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: June 11, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") establishes the mandatory behavioral, content, and operational standards for all independent Merchants operating on the Bond Local platform. This AUP is incorporated by reference into the Bond Local Terms & Conditions. Violation of this policy grants Bond Local the absolute right to immediately suspend your account, remove your listings, and withhold pending payouts without prior notice.
1. Product & Listing Accuracy (Zero Tolerance for Fraud)
Merchants are strictly prohibited from engaging in misleading advertising (Hat'aya) under the Israeli Consumer Protection Law.
- Accurate Photography: Images used in listings must accurately represent the actual physical item being sold. Bait-and-switch tactics, using heavily manipulated stock photos, or misrepresenting the size/quality of an item will result in immediate listing deletion.
- Clear Pricing: All prices must include VAT (Ma'am) as required by Israeli law. No hidden fees may be added after a transaction is initiated.
- Review Manipulation: Merchants may not purchase fake reviews, review their own products, or offer financial incentives to Customers in exchange for positive ratings.
2. Prohibited & Illicit Goods
Merchants may not list, sell, or facilitate the transport of any of the following items:
- Weapons, ammunition, or explosive materials.
- Controlled narcotics, prescription drugs, or illegal substances.
- Counterfeit goods, unlicensed replicas, or items that infringe upon third-party intellectual property, trademarks, or copyrights.
- Stolen property or goods lacking a legitimate chain of custody.
- Materials containing incitement to violence, racism, or illegal pornography.
3. Communication & Anti-Harassment Standards
Bond Local enforces a strict anti-harassment environment.
- Defamation (Lashon HaRa): Merchants may not publish abusive, threatening, or defamatory content regarding Customers, competing Merchants, or Bond Local personnel.
- Customer Harassment: Retaliating against a Customer for leaving a negative review or initiating a lawful statutory cancellation (Bitul Iska) is strictly forbidden.
4. Data Privacy & Off-Platform Solicitation
Customer data is provided to Merchants solely for the purpose of preparing an immediate order.
- No Direct Marketing: Merchants are strictly prohibited from saving Customer phone numbers, email addresses, or physical addresses to send independent marketing messages, spam, or promotional materials.
- No Platform Circumvention: Merchants may not place flyers, business cards, or promotional inserts inside Bond Local delivery packages that encourage Customers to bypass the Bond Local marketplace for future orders.
5. Enforcement & Disciplinary Action
Bond Local retains absolute and unilateral discretion to interpret these guidelines. If we determine, in our sole judgment, that a Merchant has violated this AUP, we reserve the right to:
- Issue a formal warning.
- Shadowban or permanently remove specific product listings.
- Suspend or permanently terminate the Merchant's storefront.
- Withhold payouts to cover refunds, chargebacks, or legal fees resulting from the Merchant's violation.
- Report severe violations (e.g., selling illicit goods) to the Israel Police.
